Day two of our tundra adventure. Two wolf sightings made this day really special. And if this isn’t enough, there are always Sik Sik around to cheer you up.
My Seal River Lodge diary – Day 1 – 5th September 2017
A very exciting first day at Seal River Lodge. Seeing the tundra without snow is a great experience and having a sleeping polar bear at your doorstep is just the best thing ever.
Arctic safari
We are back in Polar bear country. Yes, we are here to see Polar bears (and various other wildlife) and No, there is no snow!
No Pressure
We finally made it out to the Nanuk Lodge. Being at such a remote location really feels slighlty surreal. And even if we didn’t see what we came here to see, we had a wonderful time. I wish I could have stayed there much longer…
The Thompson saga
Sometimes things don’t go to plan. During our last trip to Canada we had an unplanned extended “layover” in Thompson. When things like this happen you can either give up or make it into another kind of adventure.
Day two in Thompson, Manitoba
It didn’t really cross my mind that we would not make it to Nanuk as planned. Well, here we are now, stuck in Thompson, with a big storm on its way to hit us.
The call of the ice
We’re going back to polar bear country and are hoping to experience some of nature’s best moments.
Back in cold waters
We’re rocking the boat on a short trip to Norway.
Volunteering with Orangutans
Some pointers on how we got to volunteer for BOS on Borneo.

Will the world drown in our trash?
